As part of our ongoing commitment to supporting schools with effective sickness management, a virtual training session has been scheduled for Thursday 11 December 2025, at 10:30AM. The purpose of this session will be to ensure that all participants have a clear and consistent understanding of the Sickness Absence Management Policy and Procedure, and the responsibilities within it.

IOSH: IOSH: Managing Safety for School Site Managers (Refresher)

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

This course is suitable for managers of all departments within schools who have responsibility or involvement in implementing and managing health and safety systems who attended the IOSH course in 2023.

This is a course for those who have operational involvement with managing health and safety in schools.

COURSE OVERVIEW:

This course enables people in schools with responsibility for managing or implementing health and safety systems to understand their key responsibilities, and how to implement them. This course is accredited and recognised by the UK’s leading professional health and safety institution (Institution of Occupational Safety and Health – IOSH), and successful completion of this course will result in the delegate receiving training to a recognised standard of competence.

COURSE OBJECTIVES:

 Provide a recognised and accredited IOSH qualification for school managers.
 Understand the key legal requirements and standards to be achieved within the school.
 Understand how accidents occur, and how to implement simple systems to prevent them, also to ensure correct protocols are followed in the event of an accident to reduce criminal / civil liability and reassure colleagues and caregivers etc.

 Identify the key hazards in the school environment and the management and controls of each.
